About Slovak-Indian Friendship Society
1934 in Prague prof. Vincent Lesný, who was a personal friend of politicians such as Mahatma Gandhi, J. Nehru, Rabindranath Thagore (Nobel Prize winner) established Association of the Friends of India. Prof. V. Lesný bridged eastern way of thinking with the Western translation of the Bhagavad Gita – the Bible of Yogis, and has a great merit in the development of the Czechoslovak - Indian friendship. He has helped many experts travel to the East, drawing knowledge from this still alive ancient well of wisdom.
After the break-up of Czechoslovakia in 1992 follows the tradition of the Association of the Friends of India at the Oriental Institute in Prague our Slovak-Indien Friendship Society.
